Ratapani Jungle - Wild life Sanctuary

Cradled in a portion of Vindhyan Ranges passing through Raisen and Sehore Districts of Madhya Pradesh, Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the good abodes for variety of wildlife. The sanctuary runs parallel on the northern side of Narmada River, the "life line of Madhya Pradesh". Kolar river forms the western boundary of the Sanctuary. The sanctuary was first notified in 1976 and then extended in 1983.

The Sanctuary has Bhimbetika "a group of rock shelters and rock paintings" which is one of the '' World Heritage Site '' declared by UNESCO, and hence the Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary is of International importance. 'Chinkara' an endangered species is also found in the Sanctuary. Ratapani reservoir, after which the sanctuary is named, forms a good habitat for crocodiles and other aquatic fauna. Dahod reservoir is another significant water body inside the sanctuary.

Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary head Quarter is just 35 kms. away from Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. It is approachable by road, rail and air route. One can enter the sanctuary either through Barkheda (on Bhopal-Nagpur NH-69) or through Delawadi (on Obedullaganj-Rehti road) or through simplex Jhiri (on Bhopal-Kolar Road).

Gwalior

Gwalior is one of the prime tourist destinations in India. The history of Gwalior speaks of turbulent times, wars, revenge and great courage. One of the must visit places in India, Gwalior definitely stands tall to narrate its tale.

Gwalior has been one of the most important historical places known to Indian History. Gwalior’s association with the history of India cannot be underestimated as the term ‘Gwalior’ has been used and read many times in the historical books of India. One has known Gwalior for its Famous Gwalior Fort which has witnessed turbulent times and still managed to stand tall. Mia Tansen, one of the greatest Music Composers of the History was born in Gwalior. Mia Tansen was not only known for his music, but apparently he was also one of the Nine Gems or as you refer Navratna of Mhugal Emperor Akbar’s Court. Other than that Gwalior also had an important role to play in History during the 1857 Revolution. Gwalior also reminds you of Maharani Raani Laxmi Bai who died in 1958 here in Gwalior while fighting with the British in 1858.
Gwalior is an important city in Madhya Pradesh located around 423 km towards the North side of Bhopal. Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh has served to be a Center to several historical events that took place in the Indian History. Gwalior also happens to be an Administrative Head quarters for the Gwalior District in Madhya Pradesh. Gwalior got its name from a Sage Gwalipa, who helped the Prince Suraj Sen find his way in the forest. When Suraj Sen asked Gwalipa how he could help the sage in return. Sage Gwalipa asked him to build a wall over the mountain to save the sages from the wild animals. Prince Suraj Sen built a fort which he named Fort Gwalior after the sage. The city that grew around this Gwalior Fort got the same name, i.e. GWALIOR.

Gwalior Fort stands tall on an isolate rock which overlooks the whole Gwalior Town. Till date, Gwalior Fort has witnessed severe turbulence and has been an integral part of Indian History. Gwalior Fort also has been selected to be a Postage Stamp, for being one of the Biggest and Strongest Forts in India. Gwalior Fort is also named as the Gibraltar of India and Gwalior Fort is also referred as The Pearl in the Necklace of the Forts of Hind. The Gwalior Fort relates itself to two main parts, one is the Main Fort and the second part accommodates the Gujari Mahal and the Man Mandir Palace.

The Main Fort accommodates the UNIQUE PLACE not only for its Historical Importance but also for the Mention of the First Zero, the Shunya in its Tablet. The mention of Shunya/ Zero has been done in a tablet which makes the GWALIOR Fort a site of Mathematical Importance. Gwalior Fort additionally serves as an excellent tourist attraction for its architecture and history. The Man Mandir Palace and Gujari Mahal too form interesting sights in Gwalior. Gujari Mahal presently serves as a Historical Museum which is worth paid a visit.

Pachmarhi

Pachmarhi has been harmonized the status of Queen Satpura hill range. Heart capturing waterfalls, scenic sites, large mountain range and lush green hillocks stretch over 60 sq. km in dramatic natural splendor. It is the most visited hill station of India. This place was discovered by officer of the British reign, Captain James Forsyth in the year 1862. He got so much attracted towards the beauty of Nature in its purest form that he constructed the bison Lodge here. He wrote the book “The High Lands of Central India” in which he has described the beauty of Pachmarhi and its myriad expression. Pachmarhi is highly indebted to Captain Forsyth for revealing this wonderland to the rest of the world and is all around development.









The Britishers used to come to this place to enjoy the scenic beauty in Pachmarhi. Large number of visitors used to visit Pachmarhi throughout the year. During the summer time it’s good to come here and beat the heat. Nature has been extremely generous to Pachmarhi. With the Sunrise you will hear the chirping of birds, murmuring rivulets, waterfall and experience the hypnotic hills and shadowy trees. You can attain a spiritual peace in the beauty of Nature.
















Tourist after visiting Pachmarhi calls it as the Kashmir of Madhya Pradesh. In order to accommodate such a large number of visitors, number of Pachmarhi Hotels and Resorts are their. Even though, in peak seasons like in weekends, Diwali festival, hotel booking in Pachmarhi become problem. Here MP Tourism Hotels are first choice of visitors. Hill Station Pachmarhi has irresistible scenic beauty. Best seasons to visit Pachmarhi is October to June.

Usually Pachmarhi sightseeing is of 2-3 days long. Must see tourist spots of Pachmarhi are Pandav Caves, Bee fall, Dhooop-garh, Duchess Fall, Rajat Fall, Pachmarhi Lake, Chauragarh, Jata Shankar, Reechgarh, Bada Mahadev, Gupt Mahadev etc
